Formerly considered to be a consolation for the heart, the lilac (Syringa vulgaris) is a deciduous shrub from the Oleaceae family. It has large leaves and small flowers that are grouped into colourful and aromatic clusters at the ends of the branches.
The lilac has interesting healing properties thanks to its verbascoside content (antioxidant and anti-inflammatory), which reduces excess sebum production and controls microbial proliferation and inflammation. In addition, it helps control hyperkeratinisation and hyperpigmentation.
Lilac extract combats excess sebum in oily skin and associated imperfections. By means of key biological mechanisms, Lilac mattifies the cutis and minimises unsightly blemishes. It thereby helps restore natural purity.
